Pros, Cons & Recommendations of ClassDojo Classroom Management Software

 PROS

It is a great communication tool between teachers and parents.

ClassDojo allows the teacher to share videos and photos of students engaged in learning on the classroom’s home page as it is happening.

It encourages good behaviour by rewarding students with points.

It can be used alongside Google classroom.

Parents can keep track of their child’s behaviour & progress.

 It is a remote learning and teaching tool.

CONS 

It can be time consuming having to create a profile for each student.

ClassDojo, like Google classroom, is a file sharing app. However, Google classroom also acts as a cloud environment for the numerous amounts of teaching materials that are stored. This feature is not available with ClassDojo.

The point system must be properly managed by the teacher and not be used primarily for punishment.

Recommendations

I would recommend the use of ClassDojo as a  classroom management application because:

•  It is free and reasonable in price if you want to upgrade. 
• It is easy to install and there is sufficient material online to assist with installation and technical difficulties should they arrive. 
• There are benefits to be derived from its use in the classroom for the correction of behavioural deficiencies. 
• It keeps communication open with parents who can readily view their child’s progress & activities posted and communicate privately with teachers if need be.
• It is especially useful when dealing with students with special needs. 
• It is easily accessible as long as you have the app.
